Gurugram Flooded: Heavy Rains Bring City to a Standstill

Heavy rainfall overnight has thrown Gurugram into disarray, leaving commuters stranded in hours-long traffic jams and forcing schools and offices to switch to online operations. The city woke up to severely waterlogged streets, making travel extremely difficult.

Traffic Nightmare and Disrupted Routines

The downpour, which continued for several hours, resulted in widespread waterlogging across major roads and residential areas. Commuters reported being stuck in traffic for up to five agonizing hours, turning what should have been a routine morning commute into a frustrating ordeal.

Schools and Offices Respond to Crisis

With roads practically impassable, many schools quickly announced a shift to online classes to ensure the safety of students and staff. Similarly, numerous companies implemented work-from-home policies, allowing employees to avoid the treacherous commute. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert, indicating the possibility of further heavy rainfall in the region. Residents are advised to stay indoors and take necessary precautions.
