Bengaluru Woman’s Kitty Party Scam: 30 Duped Out of Rs 5 Crore

A shocking tale of betrayal has unfolded in Bengaluru, where a 49-year-old woman, Savita G, and her accomplice, Puneet P, have been arrested for allegedly defrauding approximately 30 people out of a staggering Rs 5 crore.

The “Paisa Double” Trap: How the Scam Unfolded

Savita G targeted women from affluent backgrounds within her social circle, leveraging the familiar comfort of kitty parties to gain their trust. She lured them with promises of exceptionally high returns on investments in gold imports and lucrative real estate ventures. This “Paisa Double” scheme, as it’s being called, masked what authorities suspect was an elaborate chit-fund operation.

Building Trust and Breaking Promises

Savita skillfully cultivated relationships with her victims through regular kitty party gatherings. By creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and shared financial aspirations, she was able to convince them to invest substantial sums of money. However, the promised returns never materialized, and victims soon realized they had been caught in a devastating financial trap.
