However, the situation is drastically different in rural areas, where officials are demanding birth certificates, caste certificates, or land ownership documents, creating significant hurdles for many residents.

This discrepancy is causing considerable distress, particularly in the Seemanchal region. Many rural residents lack the required paperwork, leading to a surge in applications for these documents. There are growing concerns about potential voter disenfranchisement, especially among the elderly and those displaced by recent floods who may have lost their essential documents. This situation raises questions about equitable access to the voter registration process and the potential impact on voter list retention.
