In a world where millions of children are born into hardship and grow up with limited opportunities, few voices rise above the noise to champion the cause of the forgotten. One such voice is Dr. Kamal H Muhamed, an acclaimed writer, seasoned marketing specialist, and a devoted humanitarian with over four decades of professional experience. As the founder of the DARINGPRINCE Foundation, Dr. Kamal has made it his life’s mission to empower underprivileged children and nurture them into courageous, compassionate, and culturally rooted individuals.

We had the privilege of speaking with Dr. Kamal H Muhamed about his vision, philosophy, and the transformative work being carried out by the DARINGPRINCE Foundation.

Q1: Dr. Kamal, thank you for joining us. Can you tell us what inspired you to establish the DARINGPRINCE Foundation?

Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
Thank you for having me. The inspiration for the DARINGPRINCE Foundation stems from my late father’s teachings and my lifelong commitment to humanitarian work. Over the years, I’ve witnessed how systemic neglect, poverty, and lack of guidance have stifled the potential of countless children. I realized that the transformation of society begins not at the top, but from the roots — our children. DARINGPRINCE is my humble attempt to nurture those roots and ensure that no child is left behind because of circumstances they didn’t choose.

Q2: The name “DARINGPRINCE” is unique and symbolic. What does it represent?

Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
“DARINGPRINCE” is more than just a name — it’s a philosophy. It reflects courage in adversity, nobility in character, and leadership in action. I want every child under our care to embody these values. They may come from disadvantaged backgrounds, but with the right guidance, they can rise with the elegance of a prince and the fearlessness of a warrior. The name symbolizes hope, dignity, and empowerment.

Q3: What age group does the foundation focus on and why?

Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
We focus on children between the ages of 5 to 15 years — a critical developmental window. These are the formative years when a child’s worldview, emotional intelligence, behavior, and ethical values are shaped. If we can guide them during this period, we can build resilient, responsible, and resourceful individuals who are capable of leading change in their communities and beyond.

Q4: What are the core areas of intervention for the DARINGPRINCE Foundation?

Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
Our intervention strategy is holistic. We address several dimensions of child development, including:

  • Drug Abuse Prevention

  • Anti-Corruption Awareness

  • Combating Anti-Social Behaviors

  • Responsible Mobile and Technology Usage

  • Life Skills Education

  • Emotional Intelligence Development

  • Health and Hygiene Promotion

  • Educational Resource Access

We also emphasize reducing dependence on parents or guardians by fostering self-reliance from an early age. Education alone is not enough — character, ethics, and courage are equally important.

Q5: How does the foundation’s mission align with global efforts like the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?

Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
Excellent question. The DARINGPRINCE Foundation is closely aligned with the SDGs, especially those focused on quality education, reduced inequalities, good health and well-being, and peace and justice. Our programs are designed to give every child access to the tools and opportunities they need to thrive. We’re creating a framework where children are not just surviving — they are thriving with dignity and direction.

Q6: Many children today are highly dependent on digital devices. How is DPF addressing this issue?

Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
Technology is a double-edged sword. While it offers vast opportunities, overdependence and misuse — especially by children — can be harmful. At DPF, we guide children on responsible tech usage, encourage offline learning, creativity, and physical activity. Our workshops help children (and parents) understand the balance needed to benefit from technology without falling victim to it.

Q7: You’ve spoken about values like courage, culture, and compassion. How are these instilled in children?

Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
We conduct interactive sessions, storytelling, role-plays, community service activities, and value-based workshops that are tailored to each age group. These are not academic lectures — they’re experiential learning moments. We want to create a culture of empathy and ethical clarity where children can differentiate right from wrong, not from fear, but from understanding and emotional maturity.

Q8: Can you tell us more about your autobiography, Daring Prince? How is it connected to the foundation?

Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
The autobiography Daring Prince is both a personal journey and a public message. It tells the story of overcoming adversity, leading with purpose, and serving with love. All royalties from the book go directly toward supporting our foundation’s projects. The book is currently available in English and Malayalam, with translations in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Arabic, French, and Amharic underway. The idea is to reach global audiences and invite them to be part of this mission.

Q9: What has been the most rewarding moment so far in this journey?

Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
There are many, but one that stands out is seeing a young boy, once involved in petty theft and street violence, transformed into a responsible and kind school monitor through our programs. That one life changed makes every challenge worthwhile. It’s a reminder that even in the darkest of circumstances, light can be rekindled with the right care.

Q10: How can individuals, CSR organizations, or volunteers get involved with the DARINGPRINCE Foundation?

Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
We invite everyone who believes in the power of positive change to join us. Whether you’re a teacher, a parent, a student, a CSR leader, or just someone who wants to give back — there is a place for you at DARINGPRINCE. We welcome volunteers, mentors, donors, and collaborators from all walks of life. For now, you can reach out via email at daringprincefoundation@gmail.com or call us at +91-6282399133. Our official website www.daringprincefoundation.org is under construction but will be live soon.

Q11: Finally, what is your message to the world?

My message is simple: Start with the children. If we want a better world — a world free from violence, corruption, ignorance, and hate — we must begin by nurturing values, not just skills. Let us raise a generation of fearless yet compassionate human beings who believe in justice, integrity, and love. The future is not written in policies alone — it is shaped in classrooms, playgrounds, and hearts.

Q12 : Dr.Kamal what is your relationship with NEF ( National Education Forum) An Autonomous Body Govt of India

Dr. Kamal H Muhamed:
Well am recently appointed as National Chief Co-ordinator on Network & Development of Projects
