VHP Certifies Vegetarian Food for Kanwar Yatra Pilgrims in Delhi
The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has launched a special initiative to support pilgrims undertaking the Kanwar Yatra in Delhi. Focusing on dietary needs, the organization is placing “Sanatani” stickers on shops along the pilgrimage routes to clearly identify outlets offering strictly vegetarian food.
‘Sanatani’ Stickers Ensure Purity for Devotees
This certification drive comes in response to concerns about dietary adherence during the holy pilgrimage. The VHP’s ‘Sanatani’ stickers offer pilgrims a visual assurance that the certified shops respect and cater to their vegetarian practices.
Earlier Proposal to Close Meat Shops
This initiative follows a previous proposal to temporarily close meat shops during the Kanwar Yatra. While the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) lacks the authority for such closures, the VHP’s sticker campaign provides an alternative solution, helping devotees easily identify suitable food options.
